Sweet Summertime - Swirly Girls Design

Next up for the Swirly Girls Design is this adorable summer themed quilt with some cross stitch accents.  I used two different custom border designs in the white border surrounding the smaller half square triangle blocks.  For the larger colored blocks, I used two different flower motifs that mimicked the flowers in the fabric.  I also outlined the cross stitch blocks to highlight the adorable little summer scenes.  The outside border got a simple wavy design to help highlight the fabric itself.  Turned out adorable!!

Truda's Chic Diamonds Quilt

This is Truda's "derivative" of the Chic Diamond's quilt pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful. I used an all over design of a wavy checkerboard to accent the curves of the piecing. I think it really works!

Betty's Pony Piccadilly Circus quilt!

This adorable quilt made by Betty received an all over pattern that alternated between serpentine lines and wishbones.  I think it added a great new dimension to the overall look of the quilt!

Mavis's Aviatrix Medallion Quilt!

Wow, this one is so freakin' gorgeous, I can't take it. So much so that this one was hard to send back. But alas, it is back in Mavis' hands. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The quilt pattern is called Aviatrix Medallion by Elizabeth Hartman. I used a silver Glide thread throughout and Quilter's Dream wool batting.

Swirly Girl's Block Of The Month

This block of the month quilt was designed by Susan with Swirly Girl Designs and I custom quilted to highlight the different block designs.  I stuck with 4 or 5 main quilting motifs and repeated and adapted them for the different blocks to create a cohesive feel to the quilting. The simple background and vertical and horizontal straight lines give the eye to rest between blocks. Enjoy!
